Showreel for Exhibition May 2008

During the year I have been creating a New Multimedia Learning Style for people with Autism. I have done several variety of video demonstrations including stop animation.
The idea to create the showreel is to take some clips of your best footage and put all the elements together to make it a 3 minutes long showreel. This required a lot of editing as you can imagine the amount of footage I had prepared previously. I am now pleased with the results especially the music sequenising with the video.

Demonstrating Origami to Autistic children

Posted on 09/04/08
Visit to the School on 15/03/08

Demonstration with Autistic children

I transported all my equipment over to the school. I prepared and planned to specialise in demostrating origami objects to the children with Autism. The children initially watched the video demonstration first before I would give them one to one practical demonstration which seemed to work very well. There were some some children with more complex learning needs that required more help but being patient and assisting them helped them to co-ordinate and stimulate them.
The chidren were interacting the whole of the session and the outcome was a good experience and very rewarding.

Moving images 06/04/08

I wanted to create a different effect with the fish, cranes and bird altogether. My Idea is for each animation will be used and implemented for each inrtoduction for my Origami demonstration video to make it more interesting. From my experience the children show a lot of enthusiasm when I visited the school

Origami sea creatures in motion

I took several stages and tweeking to get an effect with the ogrigami sea creatures in motion.
I created several layers to put the fish on a motion path and gave each individual one a time frame. I tweened the motion path to give a ramdom look to swim in different directions.

Ladybird Photography Contact Page layout

06/04/08

I have finished the "Contact Us" page which can be viewed live here:
Please fill in the fields and then hit "Send Email" It took me a while to work on.
For the form I did code a (JavaScript) html form validator, this has been tested and is working 100% all it does that it will not allow
the user to submit the form until all fields have been completed. Fields with (*) are required, also I coded the PHP mail script which also has it's own
little form validator which checks if the user email is using the correct email format.
Example: you@domain.com - this would be a valid format

New re-designed Banner 03/04/08

New re-designed Banner
I have re-designed a new Banner to give it more of a fresh appeal to compliment the rest of the website. The colours I have chosen is a white tinted background because it being a Wedding Photography Website, I want it to have be more subtle and classic look to blend in with the rest of the site. I designed the boarder with leaves to enhance the banner and I used the same effect for the rollover buttons to compliment each other.

Ladybird Banners for Client

This Banner was the very first one I created in Photoshop but I decided it was not the right colour scheme to go with the rest of the website.
Also I thought it would look nice to compliment the banner with a leaves trailing around the boarder designed in Photoshop. For the new look of the banner will still have the images but the spot lights will have a lens flare done in Photoshop so it looks like the spotlights are glowing all the time.

Second Banner

For the new look of the banner will still use the spotlight images which I experimented using paintbrushes in Photoshop to give a spotlight lens effect.
There will be a button to turn on the spotlights to see them glowing.

Ladybird Banner (font type) 07/04/08

I used a stylish font that would complement "The theme of ladybird photography"

Ladybird Rollover button

Button to complement Website

I designed the button in Photoshop and then saved them for the web. When importing them in I inserted them in as a rollover to give a better effect.

The unique name “Ladybird Photography”
For the Website it will have a Corporate Identity Package is to establish and maintain a corporate identity. It is crucial to the success and professional appearance of a company. The corporate identity package is ideal means to creating a complete theme and style for the business.
Creating a corporate identity is one of the most important stages in building brand awareness.
The logo is important and represents a distinctive attribute and is for the business.

I will design a layout to create complex pages for my Web Site to be both versatile and visually appealing.
I have some new ideas for the new website.

The introduction of the website will include all the content and have navigational buttons and hyperlinks to go to different pages and other websites that are related.
I will compliment the website with a slideshow of the Lord of Hastings History and his Charity work.
There will be a separate video of the wedding testimonials.
When I have designed the layout of the website and put all the correct information in the website and made sure all the pages linked, I will then include forms and database.

The promotional Website will have creative designs and new imagery and will contain several pages.
It is appropriate to convey the message clearly and concise.

Origami Boxes 02/03/08

Making boxes is a good way inspiring the children because there are many different coloured pattern paper you can use. Another good idea is decorating them with ribbons and bows.

Tuesday 26 February 2008

Origami Variety 26/02/2008

In this video I have included a variety of demontration techniques to help the children to develop and progress.

Third Artefact: Week 29 11/02/08

Origami Pop-up card with animated text

A video demonstration with instructions how to make an origami pop up card incorporating appropriate animated text to complement the visual content hence using integrated background music.

Experiment Test to make an Origami pop-up card

15/02/08

This is an experimentation I had done which I had not done before..
Firstly I want to remind you this is poor lighting and it wil not be used in a final piece.
I do have an updated version with animated text.

Second Artefact: Week 27 31/01/2008:

A video demonstration of making origami objects hence using visual and auditory methods with integrated background music.

I will explore paper folding and demonstrate how it is done. I will have some close shots taken of my hands in movement.
The background music I will choose will be complimentary to suit the visual content and to inspire a wide audience.
It will be useful to try different experiments with the camera audio to see what looks visually and sounds better.

Stop Animation Iris Flower

First of all I took still shots of all papar folding. I then imported them in final cut pro and put different time frames on them to get a specal effect.

A Origami Demonstration

The first Artefact to be produced included a voice over using visual methods demonstrating Origami objects.

During the holidays I needed to explore the art of paper folding by reference to available literature and practice of sequencing skills.
Through rehearsals of repeatable paper folding, I had learnt a new skill and was ready to demonstrate on video.

I had made provision for an appropriate background setting to remove any visual distractions.

For the introduction of my video I was filmed in my back garden on a sunny day.
I was also filmed in my front room, but out of the two I had chosen to edit for the video was the back garden because it had a better appeal to it because it was bright and sunny and my front room was too gloomy and not enough light coming through.

Experimenting and using different techniques with my camera was better to establish the best angles and lighting. I tried to avoid any exposure and use the correct focus. Making any justification was better to do at the time of filming because for me that would save time.

The camera was positioned to take close shots of my hands in movement in conjunction with voiceover. It required intensive practice to ensure confident and competent delivery.

Origami Boat

I experimented with paper folding and then I took individual shots to transform a hat into a boat.
